THE STEIN
THE STEIN
combines the grandeur of a historic reception room with the openness of a modern loft.
High ceilings, spacious living areas, and carefully designed sightlines make this apartment a home that’s just as suited for large gatherings as it is for quiet moments.
The central living area forms the heart of the apartment. Here, historic architectural elements blend with custom-built fixtures, high-quality materials, and a minimalist, contemporary interior design.
Three bedrooms offer a place of retreat and privacy, while the spacious common areas reflect the building's historic scale.

THE STEIN
At The Stein, the focus was on the spatial densification of the historic building. STEIN & PARTNERS takes advantage of the existing ceiling height to integrate different levels and private retreats within the spacious interior.
Walnut, natural stone, leather, mineral plaster, and brushed metal define the material palette. Travertine and solid wood, in particular, come together here, blending the raw character of the existing structure with precise craftsmanship. The project utilizes durable materials sourced from Europe, as well as certified and reclaimed woods.
A floor-to-ceiling wooden structure combines storage space and ancillary functions while also supporting the sleeping area above. The structure defines the open floor plan without sacrificing its spaciousness.
In terms of color, The Stein features a deeper, earthy palette of walnut, tobacco, burnt clay, and dark blue. Leather and select mid-century furniture provide a deliberate contrast to the clean architecture and lend the industrial space a cozy depth.
The bathroom also follows this material concept. Travertine, dark natural stone, and wood create a subdued, almost archaic atmosphere.
Help make "Last Stop Lofts" a reality
A historic site in Dresden. A new chapter.
Last Stop Lofts is a concept that aims to transform one of Dresden’s most significant historic sites into an extraordinary collection of loft apartments—with the goal of preserving the building’s character and history while breathing new life into it.
For this vision to become a reality, the city of Dresden must make the property available for this project.
We are therefore collecting public expressions of support to demonstrate that there is genuine interest in preserving this extraordinary place, reimagining it, and making it accessible to a new generation of residents.
